Epicactus 'Piland's Pride'

This has kind of become our first flower to be posted every year. The flower is relatively small for orchid cacti, but it's very dependable and early, two very good qualities.

It's Epicactus time!

It's that time of year again and the Epicacti are doing their thing. The first is Padre, a dependable large flowering orchid cactus.

The next one is unnamed. We simply know it as "Yellow Flower", because that's the name the grower over at the Oregon coast (nursery now closed) placed on the label. As you can tell from the photo, it's floriferous, producing many medium to large sized flowers each year.

Epicactus 'Piland's Pride'

Our first Epicactus to bloom this year, it's Piland's Pride, a delicate medium sized flower. It blooms early in the year for us. I was sitting in the greenhouse having an Irish coffee with Lynn-Marie talking about the need to get to watering the Epies, and I looked across the greenhouse and lo and behold! A very pleasant surprise.

Epiphyllums 'Stormy Weather' and 'Butterup'

This morning I'm posting a double-header. Well, they're not on the same plant..., but this is a photo of both 'Buttercup' and 'Stormy Weather' blooming at the same time. I never get tired of these!
