Succulents at dusk

It was a little late in the day when Lynn-Marie took these photos...Lapidaria margaretae and Lithops dorotheae.
Our weather is quite dry and warm for this time of year - 80 Fahrenheit for several days in a row, and the nights are in the mid 50s.

The next mesemb which is blooming is the Lapidaria, another bright yellow flowered plant.

Royal Flushes and Karoo Roses

This a flat with Pleiospilos nelii 'Royal Flush', a cultivar with amazing color, and Lapidaria margaretae, a monotypic genus also known as the Karoo Rose or split rocks.  Enjoy your plants.

I actually had time to be in the greenhouses for a bit today; I had to get the heaters going as the weather is now getting a bit chilly. These plants have a growing habit which is very similar to Lithops, but it has more leaves at a time. The flowers are big and impressive, with upright stamens.
