47th Wedding Anniversary and More Puppy Pics

The top picture shows Latte on the right, along with his great aunt, Kiani; at least I think that's the relationship. Latte will probably be a little larger than Kiani when mature.
So today we celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary by taking care of Latte, our anniversary gift to each other! (We also spent a few hours at Powell's Book Store.)

Introducing "Latte", the newest member of our family

We have anew puppy. Joining Belgian Tervurens Osita and Kiani is Latte, just barely 10 weeks old. He's a handful, as a 10 week old should be, but he's fitting in quite well and has already been introduced to our miniature horse, Ladybug, who accepts him as one of the family.

Ladybug and Blu

We recently had a visit by a Belgian Tervuren puppy and so, of course, we had to introduce him to Ladybug - an essential part of any puppy's training...right? All went well.

Mountain Meadow

This is actually a wonderful time to go up into the mountains. The flora is outstanding, the air is fresh, and the mosquitoes aren't out in force yet!  ...and then, we can't leave out Osita!

An observation

As we were out walking our daily mile in overlook park this morning we noticed two people who came to exercise their dogs (though it's not a dog park and dogs are supposed to be on lead). Each of the guys had one of those flipper things for tossing the ball. They would toss the ball with a flick of the wrist and stand there texting on their cells, neither one getting any exercise themselves.

Dogs have always been a part of our lives. Not just dogs, but dogs which need exercise: Belgian Tervuren. Even the breed standard says they are constantly in motion except when under command. The end result is that they kind of push you to get some exercise yourself. And that's a good thing. But just as with humans, they would much prefer to have your attention rather than sharing it with an electronic gizmo. Don't ya think?

Kiani and Osita

OK. No cactus or succulent here. Just a blurry snapshot. But look closely; those are our two Belgian Tervurens - mama and daughter - Kiani & Osita, speeding around the corner on the way to dinner. Out of the way. Here they come!

Trip Photos IV

When we finally do get over to the California coast we always have to stop by and visit Jeff at Solana Succulents at Solana Beach. It's really a very small place but loaded with succulent plants of every description.
And the farther we go on our trip, and the more plants which we add to our van, the less space our two traveling Belgian Tervuren companions have.
That's mama and daughter, Kiani and Osita.

Osita

A bit of a diversion from plants tonight. This is one of our two companions on our various trips, Osita. She's a Belgian Tervuren (Le Belge Berge) and along with her mother, Kiani, she's always in the middle of things around the nursery and tags along with us in our travels throughout the Southwest deserts.
I hope I'll have time to take some pics pretty soon, but in the meantime I'll be posting a bit less often. Thanks for your patience.

Ladybug and Osita

To end the day with a little humor, this is Osita, our now grown up Belgian Tervuren on the back of Ladybug, our miniature horse out at a neighborhood coffee shop. She's grown up now and doesn't quite fit on Ladybug's back, but they're still the closest of friends.

Osita and Kiani, daughter and mama

This picture is a couple of weeks old, but I decided to share it anyway. On the left is Osita and on the right, Kiani, our Belgian Tervuren dogs. The picture was taken up above Sisters, Oregon, in the Triple Creek Lake area, adjacent to the Sisters Wilderness Area.

Kiani and Osita, Mama and Daughter

Lynn-Marie took this photo a couple of weeks ago on the way to the Oregon Coast. These are our two Belgian Tervurens, Osita (daughter) and Kiani (mother). They send you their greetings.

Our new helper

Introducing our new helper around the nursery: Kiani. Kiani's the mother of Osita, our other Belgian Tervuren. She 's fitting in quite nicely and has learned to dodge around the cacti very quickly.
