Thanks. You are correct, though botanists have mostly reclassified it into the Discocactus genus. I'm not sure, though, if "Deutsche kaiserin" or "German Empress" are common names (my assumption) or cultivar names. Epies aren't my specialty to say the least. Thanks again.
The systematics of jungle cacti are murky indeed! I always think of nopalxochia first, since that junk genus is what I first knew the plant by. One thing's for sure, though, it's not DisCocactus ;)
