I've posted photos of Mammillaria schwarzii before, but not this one. There must be something in my - long distant - childhood which causes me to be drawn to fuzzy plants like this, especially when they flower so easily.
Sorry, no more Echeverias today. I'll try...

Mammillaria schwarzii starts
Over the years one of the most common questions about cacti is "Doesn't it take a long time before they flower?" And of course the answer depends a lot on which cactus. This, for example, is Mammillaria schwarzii and each of these little starts is under 1 inch in diameter. Questions answered.
Enjoy your plants and have a happy Easter.

Mammillaria schwarzii
Another cactus begins to bloom! This time it's Mammillaria schwarzii. This plant is very much at risk in it's native habitat due - mostly - to over collection. Such a same, as it has been widely available as a seed grown plant for some 40 years. It's one of our favorites, but it is touchy about overwatering. Provide very good drainage, judicial watering and setting with bright light.
