Sometimes listed as Neoporteria nidus senilis, this has always been one of my favorite plants, especially when it sports it beautiful, bright red flowers. There'll be some very nice specimens of this plant at the OCSS Show and Sale...which is coming up in a couple of weeks, July 15-17, at Portland Nursery on Stark, in Southeast Portland, Oregon.
Photos are copyright by Luther Sturtevant and Lynn-Marie Kara of Kara Nursery (www.karacactus.com).

Our first photo for tonight is of Echeveria minima. As its name implies, it's small, but - wow! - what a stunner.

At first glance, this may seem similar to the previous E. minima. However, though also a small growing plant, this is Echeveria globulosa, also very nice.

Enjoy your plants!

The item they describe doesn't have a photo on our page, but - not to worry - they simply take the picture for the next plant which isn't the plant they say they are selling. In addition, they are selling their plant as offsets of our plant (not possible) for $150.00. Our whole plants, grown from seed, are listed at $65.00.
Thanks. I'll be posting some more pictures soon.

My apologies again for not posting recently. One of the last times I posted I commented about the heat this summer. Well, it's Winter, and now it's the rain. We've already set a record for the amount of rain in any December for over 100 years. And we haven't had even one day without rain.

Enjoy the full moon tonight and celebrate the love of God in the birth of a child. Peace!
What can I say. We've been very busy.
Tomorrow, if you're interested, you can join me at 1 pm for a presentation on growing succulent plants at the Portland Nursery on Division (9000 SE Division St. in Portland). Even if you've been to another class I've given, no two are the same as I try to direct my comments to the needs of the people in attendance. You can register for the class here.
No one seems to know who created this cross, but it's a classic. It's an intergeneric cross between an Aloe and a Gasteria, probably Aloe aristata and Gasteria 'Little Warty'.
