Pleiospilos nelii 'Royal Flush'

I love the color we get from these at this time of year.

  1. Beautiful!
I had two of these, but one died for reasons unknown, and the other reverted to a basic green color. It's doing fine, but is still just green. No idea why! Has that ever happened to Pleios in your neck of the woods?

    1. Hi Marla. They need adequate light to get the purple color. Also, though we've never had this happen since they get very little fertilizer, too much nitrogen might create a problem. Other than that, it could be a reversion I suppose.

    1. Unfortunately I didn't get out to the greenhouses with my camera when they were in full flower. However I'll try to dig into the picture archives and find a picture of the flower.
