Sometimes the unexpected surprises are the best ones. The plant was kind of out of sight (and thus out of mind), but then, while checking out the "out of sight" plants, wow!
The plant is Hoodia flava (syn. Trichocaulon flavum) and what a pleasant surprise.
I have some plant questions for you. I think I have a succulent you have pictured on this blog. Grey-blue with a reproductive cycle I dont completely understand. I am a Master Gardener from Texas.
Ah yes. That's Echeveria 'lucita' which is a hybrid and therefore can only be propagated by offsets or cuttings. (Seeds won't come true.) Flowers usually occur during the Spring and Summer. It's an easy plant to grow.

ReplyDeleteI assume you're referring to the Hoodia just posted. Could you please be more specific as to your question?
ReplyDeleteNo, I am referring to the picture just below your blog archive. The little grey/blue succulent you show in bloom.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the name. Mine has dropped bits of itself in other containers and now I have several.
